Have A Groovy Tuesday

*Playlist at the end 🙂

Good morning friends and happy Tuesday!

It was kind of a struggle to get out of bed this morning, but I kept snoozing until I finally rolled out of bed to go shoot sunrise. Now that I go out to shoot on a pretty regular basis I typically choose to shoot sunrise/sunset or during golden hour. Those are definitely my favorite times to shoot for obvious reasons. Sunrise the last two mornings wasn’t as impressive as some that I’ve seen here in Florida, but I kind of expected this because there were no clouds both mornings. That’s why I wanted to make sure I got out of bed this morning because I saw in the weather forecast that it was going to be cloudy today and if you didn’t know already, clouds MAKE the sunrises and sunsets. Now if only I could find out which type of clouds make the best sunrises/sunsets. If anyone knows, please share in the comments below! Anyway, here are some shots from earlier:

This was at Lake Rowena in Orlando, which is right across from the Orlando Museum of Art on Mills. I’ve noticed this lake always has gorgeous views of sunrise, but there is no where to park! The neighborhood that is closest does not allow any street parking. -__- So I basically cheated and parked at a business nearby since I wasn’t planning to stay long anyway.

I hope the residents who live around this lake appreciate the beauty they have every day.

The reflection from the lake was on point today!

Also, I wanted to share a mix by Jarami, a Swedish duo. It’s almost a solid hour of R&B goodness with an extra side of funk. Definitely a mix to groove out to. Enjoy and make today a good one!

❤ always,

Hobbies and Knowing Yourself

The other day me and my friend were having a conversation about knowing yourself and always making sure you have time for yourself. She’s currently in a relationship and was telling me how it’s hard for her to get time to herself at times because she has to always consider her free time for her significant other. This is one of the reasons why I choose to be single and I’m happy to be single because all my free time away from work is spent on me and what I want to do. I feel blessed to be able to have the freedom to spend my days off being lazy, catching up on sleep, reading books or exploring my city, etc. I was telling my friend how it’s so important to be able to spend time away from your significant other to do things for yourself so you can stay in tune to you and the things that make you Y-O-U. Explore Your City

On my days off now I try to ride my bike more often and explore Orlando since it still feels like a new city to me. In August it will be a year since I’ve moved here and it is finally starting to grow on me. I can definitely appreciate the local movement out here. It’s nice to see a strong community that supports local businesses and I’ve come across some great spots so far. But today, I finally went biking on the Orlando Urban Trail, which is a paved trail that is great for bikers, runners, walkers, etc. It’s only about 3 miles, but it takes you to great parts of Orlando including the Mills50 district, Loch Haven Park, and other great areas!  Here are some pictures from my bike ride today:

The beginning of the trail!

They even had a bike stand with tools and air pump! How awesome is that?? Good job, Orlando! Read More
