Favorite Instagrammers

Hi friends!

How is everyone doing? Hope everyone is having a great week. I just wanted to write a quick post about my favorite Instagrammers. Why you ask? Because I’m obsessed with Instagram and I think it’s one of the best social media platforms out there. To me, Instagram is a community of people who want to share great things and inspiration with each other. Of course there are some BS accounts out there, but that’s the beauty of following who you want and engaging in what and with who you want. I probably spend a little too much time on Instagram, but I get so caught up in all the beautiful pictures and then one photo will lead to another Instagrammer and then another hashtag and then yea. You get the picture, right? Anyhow, without further ado, here are my favs in no particular order:

  1. Stationcdrkelly – Because I’m a space nerd and he is an astronaut and what could be cooler than being an astronaut? He also posts AMAZING photos of the earth from space. He’s currently at his half way mark of being in space for a year.
  2. Happsters – Because everyone wants to be happy, right?
  3. Campingwithdogs – Because this is my dream life and one day I hope to do just that.
  4. Loki_the_wolfdog – Because he’s one of the cutest and most awesomest dogs on Instagram with amazing photos of nature and if you didn’t know, I’m OBSESSED with nature and the outdoors.
  5. Sendingstache – I’m not sure if I love his captions more or his photos more. But either way, his work is amazing and his captions bring joy to my day. Seriously, if you haven’t seen his work, go check him out. H-I-L-A-R-IOUS.
  6. Outdoorwomen – Because it’s a bunch of badass, outdoor women and I hope to be like them one day.
  7. REI – Because it’s the store of life. Also, they featured a photo of mine on their Facebook once! That literally made my day, haha.
  8. Instagram – The official Instagram account. Do I really have to give a reason?
    1. And just for fun:
  9. Bentomonsters – I just found this account today, but I’m seriously OBSESSED. I don’t know how this lady’s children will ever be able to eat regular food again.
  10. Frenchiebutt – Because I want a frenchie so bad and he’s just too cute.
  11. Ashmiemu – Because cats are cool too and I hope to have a Scottish Fold one day.

Here’s the post that REI posted by the way! How cool is that? =)

The Shift

I just finished watching the most inspiring movie called The Shift starring Dr. Wayne Dyer. It’s about conscious living and leading a life of purpose and meaning to your authentic self. It was so amazing and I recommend it for everyone to see and it is currently free to watch online in his honor.

Thank you to @happsters for sharing this wonderful and soul 🙏🏽 touching movie.

To me, inspiration is probably one of the greatest gifts you can give to anybody. If it wasn’t for inspiration, we wouldn’t be living in the world we live in today. I think it’s safe to say that all of our greatest leaders, inventors, heroes, etc. were inspired by someone or something, right? For example, Gandhi inspired Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs was inspired by the co-founder of Polaroid, Edwin Land, Elon Musk was inspired by the Lord of the Rings, and the list goes on. When you strive to be the best version of yourself, just know that there is someone out there who will be inspired by you. And this is a gift you give not only to yourself, to the person you inspire, but also to the world. Inspiration leads to great things. Inspiration leads to movements, inventions, improvements, art, and whatever else can be inspired. Read More

Hitting The Refresh Button

Why is it so easy to get caught up with daily life? One of my constant struggles is forgetting how to be present and true to myself. I think one of the biggest culprits recently has been my job situation at work. There are issues and things that get me upset and it throws me off my momentum. Or at least I allow it to throw me off. On my nights off I try to relax and enjoy my time and always find my way back to peace. Today I read this article posted by Deepak Chopra that really hit home and gave me something I really needed. It was kind of like hitting the refresh button. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do that anytime we came across our daily struggles? I’m going to try my best to think of it that way and use this “button” anytime I find myself straying from my true self and the present moment. It’s so easy to get caught up in the things that don’t really matter. I guess this is why it is so important to practice daily meditation and surround yourself with people who believe in the same things you do and who can snap you back to the present moment when necessary. Anyhow, here is the link to that awesome article: “From Hazy to Clear: How to Gain Clarity About Your Life” by Deepak Chopra.

Read it, save it, share it! Let’s continue to spread positivity! Also, Deepak will be hosting a global online meditation event this Saturday for compassion. It’s free! I signed up and I hope you will too. Do good things daily. Hope everyone is having an awesome week!

Talk to you soon.

P.S. If you don’t know who Deepak Chopra is, look him up! He is an author, public speaker, advocate for alternative medicine, and leader in all things spiritual.

A Week In Review

Hi, guys!

I am so sorry I’ve been MIA for so long now! It’s been two weeks since my last post and the reason is because I worked overtime both weeks and if you are a nurse and work night shifts you should know how draining it is to reenergize. But still no excuses! I just wanted to write an update post and tell you what I’ve been up to.

So besides working so much, the last few days I’ve been off and I’ve been really trying to settle in, get organized, and get new furniture for my new place! Here’s some pictures of what I have so far:

I’ve been to IKEA 3x this week!

With the carpet…what do you think? Is it too small?
Plants! I love my plants :)

So most of my furniture is from IKEA, but that’s okay cause I do like IKEA furniture. I know some can be low quality, but I’m happy with my picks and that I’m saving a lot of money. I need the savings for traveling! I went to West Elm the other day and I loved so many of their pieces, but their prices definitely kept me away. Although I did get some cute succulents from there. I feel so hip now with my succulent collection. 😉 Speaking of plants, I used to be into decorating with fake flowers/plants, but something about REAL flowers/plants brings so much more life into your place! And I love the spiritual aspect of having plants and taking care of them, nurturing them, allowing them to grow, etc. I know, I’m such a hippie, but that’s okay with me. I find a lot of satisfaction getting up in the morning to water them now.

This is the other day when I finally went biking in my new neighborhood. Beautiful isn’t it? I feel so lucky to be able to live in such an amazing neighborhood with so many beautiful trees! I have such an obsession with trees now. Here’s the quote that kind of sparked that obsession:

“For me, trees have always been the most penetrating preachers. I revere them when they live in tribes and families, in forests and groves. And even more I revere them when they stand alone. They are like lonely persons. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, like Beethoven and Nietzsche. In their highest boughs the world rustles, their roots rest in infinity; but they do not lose themselves there, they struggle with all the force of their lives for one thing only: to fulfil themselves according to their own laws, to build up their own form, to represent themselves. Nothing is holier, nothing is more exemplary than a beautiful, strong tree. When a tree is cut down and reveals its naked death-wound to the sun, one can read its whole history in the luminous, inscribed disk of its trunk: in the rings of its years, its scars, all the struggle, all the suffering, all the sickness, all the happiness and prosperity stand truly written, the narrow years and the luxurious years, the attacks withstood, the storms endured. And every young farmboy knows that the hardest and noblest wood has the narrowest rings, that high on the mountains and in continuing danger the most indestructible, the strongest, the ideal trees grow.

Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.” – Herman Hesse

Amazing, isn’t it?

Besides my apartment, I’ve also been listening to some awesome music. Here’s my current repeat:

I actually found out this one from Ingrid Nilsen who is a YouTube star. I stopped watching a lot of the beauty and makeup videos I used to be addicted to before, but I still watch a few select people who I think are genuine and have awesome style. Missglamorazzi being one of them! She recently came out on one of her YouTube videos and that definitely made me appreciate her even more. I think she has more than 3 million followers and to think about how much impact she can have on people is amazing! I definitely can support anyone who can be brave and be their own person. Kudos to you, Ingrid! Keep shining and bringing positivity to this world. 🙂

And finally here are two videos that Google + suggested to me today:

Hope these two videos inspire you to do something positive today! Do something you fear or spread the word on sex trafficking or learn more about it or do something for a bigger cause. Make every day count!

I know this post is a little random, but that’s me and I hope you enjoyed. As always, thank you for taking the time to read! Till next time.. 🙂
